YESSSSS, you can! Carbs are not the enemy, girlfriend! If your goal is fat loss, you can eat loads of carbs (the right carbs) while STILL losing fat! Imagine, no longer feeling shame while you eat potatoes, bread (whole grains not whole wheat), and bananas.


Think of carbs as raw material that fuels your body. You need them to make sugar for energy.

They come in two types: simple and complex. What's the difference? Simple carbs are like quick-burning fuels. ( The simple carbs are refined or processed sugars are often added to candies, baked goods, and soda.) They break down fast into sugar in your system. You want to eat less of this type.

Complex carbs are usually a better choice. It takes your body longer to break them down and are healthier. (Complex carbohydrates, found in whole grains, legumes, and starchy vegetables, contain longer chains of sugar molecules, which usually take more time for the body to break down and use.)

Many of my vegan clients find that when they transition from eating meat, dairy and eggs to beans, lentils and whole grains their weight goes up! They become extremely frustrated and want to give up! UGH! 🤦🏻‍♀️ 

I get it. When I first went vegan I gained 14lbs. It was awful! 😩

I wanted to save the world and the cows, chickens and pigs while being healthy and looking lean! The great news is, you CAN totally do this. You just have to know what you're doing.

If you are a carb fiend like me and generally feel better on a higher carb diet, don’t cut them out! Maybe you just need to scale back on your portion size a bit to reduce your calorie intake, but no drastic measures are needed! (Eat more complex carbs, you can have simple carbs like fruits, just skip the sugar)
