How to avoid and fight food CRAVINGS?🍪

I absolutely LOVE this topic because well... I AM AN EXPERT!
.
I have had issues with sugar cravings my entire life and it has OWNED me! My nickname as a child was “Cookie Monster” for goodness sakes!🤦🏻‍♀️
.
Anytime I experienced a craving, I would give in & get it in. 🍪🍫🍰
.
I want to share 5️⃣ tips to help you AVOID & ELIMINATE these cravings once and for all.
.
1️⃣ Eliminate artificial sweeteners that stimulate your appetite (ex Sucralose, Splenda, aspartame, etc).
.
2️⃣ Reduce your consumption of salt taken.
Salt intake usually brings on strong sugar cravings as salt is an appetite stimulator. This is why I recommend only eating out 1-2x per week as most restaurants overly salt their food to make it taste EXTRA good!
.
3️⃣ Don’t skip meals.
Preferably eating 3 meals with 1-2 snacks daily is recommended. Prolonged bouts of not eating can result in low blood sugar and we tend to overcompensate by eating too much later in the day.
.
4️⃣ Eat a balance of protein, carbs, and fats with each meal or snack.
Combining macros will provide a steady supply of blood sugar and keep you feeling fuller longer.

5️⃣ Drink water.
Our body often confuses hunger with dehydration. Drink a glass with meals or in between meals and re-evaluate how hungry you think you are.

MORE helpful tips:

👉🏼 Drink 8oz of water immediately when you begin to crave any food.
👉🏼DON’T keep any food in the house that “triggers” you. It’s not a matter of “if” you eat it but “when”!
👉🏼Have sparkling water with mint gum after dinner every night.
👉🏼Hot tea or coffee works as a great way to eliminate food cravings too.
